HISTORY:

Our roots go back to 1969 when Sims & Blancett of Lake City, AR was formed and began filling propane cylinders and serving retailers with cylinder exchange consignment services.  In 1995, MFA Propane of Columbia, MO bought the propane assets of Sims & Blancett and took over service to all propane customers.  In 2008, MFA Propane spun off their Cylinder Exchange Business and sold it to newly formed Island Energy Inc. of Paragould, AR.  Since then, Island Energy has been on the path of strategic growth by acquisition and internal growth by increasing market share.  In 2009, Island Energy purchased the Propane Cylinder Exchange assets of Hometown Energy LLC of Doniphan, MO..  In early 2010, Island Energy acquired the assets of the propane cylinder exchange business of Home Service Oil of Poplar Bluff, MO. 

This fall, (2010) Island Energy is setting a course for continued growth by entering the Bulk Propane Services market in Greene, Craighead, Randolph & Lawrence counties in Northeast Arkansas. 

Island Energy Inc. is an Arkansas Corporation wholly owned by local businessman J. Hardy Thompson, a life long resident of Paragould, Arkansas with a  BS Mechanical Engineering from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro.  Mr. Thompson resides in Paragould, with his wife, Wendy and daughters Karlie, Holly, Hannah & Heather.
